Kevin Hart recently launched a new challenge calling out a host of celebrities to donate $25,000 to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. While many celebrities wasted no time donating — Hart’s fund has already collected over $900,000 in just two days — Master P doesn’t believe celebrities should have to be challenged to donate let alone publicly announce how much they’re contributing to relief efforts.
“I’m blessed that Kevin Hart made a donation, but I feel like he don’t have to do that because it’s not necessary,” he says to TMZ in a video. “It really don’t matter what it is as long as you’re giving from your heart so I don’t think you have to do that with other people, just let them give from their heart.”
Since Hart issued his Hurricane Harvey challenge, Chris Brown announced plans to donate $100,000. T.I, DJ Khaled, Nicki Minaj and recently, Diddy, has followed suit and donated $25,000. The Kardashians also revealed that they are donating a whopping $500,000 the American Red Cross and Salvation Army USA.

The Hurricane Harvey damages hit close to home for Master P, who experienced a similar tragedy in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina pummeled the rapper’s hometown New Orleans, Louisiana. Hurricane Katrina struck Louisiana and surrounding states on August 29, 2005, but the extensive flooding damaged New Orleans the most.
“It’s crazy how it’s the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and now Hurricane Harvey has definitely devastated Houston, Texas, and a lot of people in the surround areas,” he continued. “Houston really needs help.”
